Apple picking

Logan just makes you want to go out and pick some apples. He asked that I take a picture of him taking a big bite. haha he just makes me smile. I did get some pictures of the apples to use as backgrounds in my digital scrapbooking :)

Button Buddies class

I am missing one of the cards because I had a bad picture and my camera has decided to take a mental health day and wont turn on. haha So this card here is one of the others. It is the cute fat pig. Add a pink button snout and he becomes full of personality.

This card is really simple. You can add different sizes of buttons to the middle of this one.

Here is my little snail. Its hard to see but I thought the swirls on the background fit him. The button used is from the Holiday mini and comes with 4 sizes and 2 colors. This green and red.

This little cutie is using some of the flower buttons from last sale a bration freebies. I also used the new snowflake embossing folder. It does not really look like snowflakes here so it worked.

I will try to get a new picture of the cherry card. Until then.. Happy stamping

Teacher gifts - Birthday card kit

Here is my attempt at a Birthday card kit for Jenna and Logan's teachers. The idea is to have one card for each child in class for their Birthdays. One teacher I do not know and the other is the beloved K teacher that Rebecca had. I hope they like these. I rememer when I got a nice note from my teacher so I hope the kids enjoy getting these special little notes.
I used the Stampin Up clear cases which have a sleeve just like a regular DVD case. It was easy to design something and slip it in thru the sides. I used the Broadsheet Alphabet set. It was hard to get the letters to fit so I did them in a curve and then added a triple scoop ice cream to fill in the space :) Below is front and back view. The paper is double sided so there is a pattern on the inside of the case as well.

Below are the cases with the 17 cards and envelopes strategically placed inside along with a gel pen. The cards are fat because of buttons and puff glue dots so the teacher better be careful when opening. I did 17 in both because one class has 15 kids and the other has 16 and I wanted each teacher to have at least one extra in case a new student came in. Yes I LOVE the class sizes in WI.

Here is a group shot of all the cards. I tried to make them fairly generic so I didnt have to count boys and girls.

This is using the Button Buddies stamp set that just begs for a button to be added. So cute. Love the little piggy the best.

These little guys use the hot air balloons from the Up, Up & Away set.

These little cards make me want to go get an ice cream cone. I used the embossing folder on the circle that has Happy Birthday all over it in different fonts. Hard to see the detail in the pictures. The scoops of course are embossed with the swirls folder to give it that yummy ice cream look. I even attempted mint chip which is one of my favorites... (minus the chips for those of you who know me hehe)

These little guys are my cupcakes. Super easy to make.

Happy Anniversary Dan - Button Buddies

This is the silly card I made Dan for our Anniversary. We have been thru some belly deep mud and small puddles but we are still as happy as 2 pink pigs in a mud pen. I love you Dan and thank you for all the blessings you have brought to this marriage.
This is one of the stamp sets I will be using for the next camp on Sept 16th and 18th.

So the smashing continues.... I love my smashbook. I got an email coupon from Archivers.... so I printed one for myself and Rebecca. We went in and I got this groovy baby blue one and she got a black one. 30% off I could not resist. My next one will be red.

this is the cutest card ever... Marybeth made this for Logans 5th B-day. It is Puff the magic dragon. She used all Stampin Up punches to make this. Too cute for me.

This is a side view so you can see the layers

this is my decorating idea page. I am just getting started.....

Stay tuned for more idea. My next post will be Stampin UP cards I promise.

Smash book..... finally got one.

Finally got to Archivers and bought myself a Smash book. Love love love it. Go to Youtube and look up Smash book EZ sucess to get the idea of what it is all about. They have 4 colors right now and each one has a different type of theme inside. All come with this groovy pen/glue combo thing that is attached to the book. You can buy extra ones of course.

Here are some of the goodies I bought with it.... I personally think they need to add more stuff but I guess this will get me started. Starting from left to right.. Smash tabs that are self stick and made of cloth, 2 pads of neat little tear out pages (see the quick quick sheet in middle) Each one is a different theme. They had maybe 2 or 3 other ones but I will start with 2. Then I have some little self sticky tabs in neat patterns and then some other smash tabs that have little sayings like: I will make this, Makes me happy, Do not forget.....There are 10 of each so 70 will last me a while. The roll at the bottom has a bunch of sayings.. It has my favorite one FAB.... so I had to get it. You just rip it like masking tape and stick it in your book. super cute.

The rest of the goodies include some metal paperclips that have saying on them, pockets that stick in the book where ever you need t hem and even they have neat sayings on them.

So to get started I used a cloth tab and marked it Bucket list. I found this article in the paper while in the Dr office. Ok ok yes I ripped it out but I had to have it. Its for tours of all the Harbors in New England. I have been all over the US but not so much in this one area so I would love love to go there. Now it is on my bucket list. I will try to put some new pics of my book as I add to it so you get an idea of how to use it. You can also use it as a scrapbook or any type of planner like for a wedding. super neat.

All about the ice cream

This card is for one of Jenna's friends who was turning 8. Who doesnt like ice cream? Her party was at the beach and I almost did that theme... but I just love these cones using our new punches. I love to put the little scoops thru the swirls embossing folder to give that scooped up look. I used dimensionals to put behind the 2nd and 3rd scoop just to give it some pop. I got to use my new alphabet set called broadsheet alphabet. It sure has a lot of character.
Dont forget that Aug 12th and 14th is stamp camp. Come make 10 cards for your collection. Nobody likes to be caught without a card.
Till next time... Happy Stamping.

Challenge #3

Hello ladies. Last night I tried my hand at another challenge. I wanted to use the new lace ribbon border punch so I punched out a piece and then tried to figure out what to do with it. I did turn the template on its side because the lace was longer and I didnt want to cut it down to fit the other way. I started with weaving hemp thru it but that didnt show up well so I looked at my wall of ribbon and the blue bliss caught my eye. I just wove it thru and knotted it. I thought it contrasted well with the cherry cobbler which by the way is one of my favorite colors. Maybe because it sounds like food and my Girls Weekend Queen name has cherry in it hehe. So anyway I then figured if I needed 3 images I needed something small so I chose the tiny butterflies. I didnt want to overpower the card. I used the flower from the Flower Fest set and made it a 3D image. I chose words from Swirls & Curls Verses just because I love the loopy letters. So go on over to www.inkspire-me.com to see all the other entries. Till next time.... Happy Stamping

Color challenge #2

This weekend was a bit busy getting all our school supply shopping done. With 3 kids still in school.... it sure makes for a lot of supplies. Not sure how my 5 year old is going to use 20 glue sticks in 9 months .... maybe they are going to be doing some stamping this year.. haha. With all that shopping I kept this challenge in the back of my head to get done so here is my card for the Inkspire color challenge. It was to use Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Black, White. This little turtle is from the set called Turtle & Co. It is the set that donates $2 from each one sold to the Ronald McDonald house foundation. The saying is a bit hard to see but it says....Hope you're back on your feet soon! too cute.
So go on over to www.inkspire-me.com to see the other entries. Till next time.. Happy Stamping

Donate cards to Soldiers overseas.

These are some of the cards we made for the soldiers. These are stack of 10 and I had a bag of 100 off to the side as well. 340 total. All occasions.

Rebecca, MT, Marybeth and Karen hard at work on the cards. We had a nice taco salad for dinner and I made some awesome Almond pound cake with strawberry rhubarb spread from Tastefully Simple for dessert. Yum. Kept us going till 10pm. haha Only 4 hours to crank all these out. We now have to pick up our envelopes and sort them in sets of 5 to put into zip locks. Each set can go to a different soldier and the sand will stay out of them. Karen said no glitter..... It shows up in night vision goggles so we had none of that. Thanks ladies for your hard work.

Oh yes. I had to get myself into the picture of course since I worked too :) Thanks Michael

Cards from camp

This card is so colorful and cute. One of my recent favorites. It was inspired by a fellow demonstrator Melissa Davies. I used the Pennant parade stamp set with the Pennant punch. Of course I had to add lots of texture of course.
Had to send this one to Grandma Helen in TX for her bday.

This card was inspired by Elizabeth Hurst. Just a touch of spring.
Till next time... Happy stamping

Weekend cards

This first card was made for Angie. It was a Graduation card but I didnt want to use the traditional cap and gown. just some background paper, a bit of texture and my favorite word set swirls & curls verses.

This was a little 3x3 card for Anna's gift. Does it look like a sundae? I used the cupcake punch to make some scoops of ice cream and then added some swirls to make it look delicious. I used the Large Oval punch to make the bowl and the word window for the spoon handle. Hope you like my creations for this weekend. Till next time.... Happy Stamping

Color challenge

I joined a brand new challenge site at www.inkspire-me.com These ladies started this challenge so I wanted to see if it would help me create to keep my blog updated with some new color schemes. I have to admit that I only really like the Melon Mambo but I was up for a challenge so here is what I came up with. Colors in the challenge were Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Brava Burgundy, Peach Parfait and of course white. I had to use Crumb Cake because the leaves just didnt look right in any of those other colors. So hop on over to their site and check it out.

Quick and easy

Here is a fast card that is easy to put together. I used the scallop squares and beautiful butterflies dies to make this. I then embossed it to give some texture. Put on a dimensional dot and up it pops. Who does not like butterflies???

A story from 12 years ago

Sorry if you have heard this story before but I had to share again. Logan knocked this picture out of my shadow box above my stamping desk and it made me laugh when I looked at it. This is a picture of Rebecca when she was just 3. I was brand new into stamping and she wanted to play like mommy did. I was doing dishes and she was playing in dining room.... well you know when your kids get too quiet you know its time to look in on them??? Well this is what I found. The old style of stamp pads did not click lock like the ones now so they just flipped open.. well this little lady and her afternoon hairdo.... decided she was going to investigate that pad. It was my new real red.. it just came out. Well she apparently tried to taste it, smell it, feel it and wear it like make up. She was so proud. AND..... she didnt get a single smudge on my biege carpet or my white chair coverings.. Amazing. Jump forward 12 years and she is still into my stamp stuff but she is a bit more careful. haha

Because I care

Here is another card I made for camp. The set I used was Flower Fest. 5 of the stamps match punches so I only had to cut out the leaves. Easy Peesy. You know me I love those textures so of course I had to emboss the black. The bow is a faux bow... haha I wrapped the ribbon around the card and then I just tied a knot on a separate piece of ribbon and stuck it on with a glue dot. For those of my fellow stampers who are allergic to ribbon ;)
I will post the other 2 camp cards after Sunday's gathering of stamping goodness.
Enjoy this fabulous weather.
Happy Stamping

Birthday card

This is the card I made for Rebecca's 15th Birthday. You cant tell but the scoops are gradual layered with dimensionals. I think next time I will add texture to the scoops. can you tell I like that set called Swirls and Curls? so cute.

Recommitment to my blog

Hello all.... I have made the decision to move my blog from my wish I could get to it list to my list of things I must do. I will start today by posting 2 cards. One for the upcoming camp and the other is for a very special Birthday. Check back often as I am going to make sure I post lots of inspiration for you. I am inspired by so many of my fellow Stampin Up demonstrators and I will mention your name if your ideas are the ones that draw me in.
Stay tuned.
Jonna

Stamping Mojo....

This cute card is one that we will be making at stamp camp this next weekend. Inspired by a fellow stamper Mary Brown... it is a cute combination of punches and textures.

This card is for my BFF Gwen. When you care to send the very best... you better stamp it!

Love my punches and embossing folders.. sure adds the pop to the card.
