Color challenge #2

This weekend was a bit busy getting all our school supply shopping done. With 3 kids still in school.... it sure makes for a lot of supplies. Not sure how my 5 year old is going to use 20 glue sticks in 9 months .... maybe they are going to be doing some stamping this year.. haha. With all that shopping I kept this challenge in the back of my head to get done so here is my card for the Inkspire color challenge. It was to use Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Black, White. This little turtle is from the set called Turtle & Co. It is the set that donates $2 from each one sold to the Ronald McDonald house foundation. The saying is a bit hard to see but it says....Hope you're back on your feet soon! too cute.
So go on over to www.inkspire-me.com to see the other entries. Till next time.. Happy Stamping

Donate cards to Soldiers overseas.

These are some of the cards we made for the soldiers. These are stack of 10 and I had a bag of 100 off to the side as well. 340 total. All occasions.

Rebecca, MT, Marybeth and Karen hard at work on the cards. We had a nice taco salad for dinner and I made some awesome Almond pound cake with strawberry rhubarb spread from Tastefully Simple for dessert. Yum. Kept us going till 10pm. haha Only 4 hours to crank all these out. We now have to pick up our envelopes and sort them in sets of 5 to put into zip locks. Each set can go to a different soldier and the sand will stay out of them. Karen said no glitter..... It shows up in night vision goggles so we had none of that. Thanks ladies for your hard work.

Oh yes. I had to get myself into the picture of course since I worked too :) Thanks Michael

Cards from camp

This card is so colorful and cute. One of my recent favorites. It was inspired by a fellow demonstrator Melissa Davies. I used the Pennant parade stamp set with the Pennant punch. Of course I had to add lots of texture of course.
Had to send this one to Grandma Helen in TX for her bday.

This card was inspired by Elizabeth Hurst. Just a touch of spring.
Till next time... Happy stamping

Weekend cards

This first card was made for Angie. It was a Graduation card but I didnt want to use the traditional cap and gown. just some background paper, a bit of texture and my favorite word set swirls & curls verses.

This was a little 3x3 card for Anna's gift. Does it look like a sundae? I used the cupcake punch to make some scoops of ice cream and then added some swirls to make it look delicious. I used the Large Oval punch to make the bowl and the word window for the spoon handle. Hope you like my creations for this weekend. Till next time.... Happy Stamping

Color challenge

I joined a brand new challenge site at www.inkspire-me.com These ladies started this challenge so I wanted to see if it would help me create to keep my blog updated with some new color schemes. I have to admit that I only really like the Melon Mambo but I was up for a challenge so here is what I came up with. Colors in the challenge were Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Brava Burgundy, Peach Parfait and of course white. I had to use Crumb Cake because the leaves just didnt look right in any of those other colors. So hop on over to their site and check it out.

Quick and easy

Here is a fast card that is easy to put together. I used the scallop squares and beautiful butterflies dies to make this. I then embossed it to give some texture. Put on a dimensional dot and up it pops. Who does not like butterflies???

A story from 12 years ago

Sorry if you have heard this story before but I had to share again. Logan knocked this picture out of my shadow box above my stamping desk and it made me laugh when I looked at it. This is a picture of Rebecca when she was just 3. I was brand new into stamping and she wanted to play like mommy did. I was doing dishes and she was playing in dining room.... well you know when your kids get too quiet you know its time to look in on them??? Well this is what I found. The old style of stamp pads did not click lock like the ones now so they just flipped open.. well this little lady and her afternoon hairdo.... decided she was going to investigate that pad. It was my new real red.. it just came out. Well she apparently tried to taste it, smell it, feel it and wear it like make up. She was so proud. AND..... she didnt get a single smudge on my biege carpet or my white chair coverings.. Amazing. Jump forward 12 years and she is still into my stamp stuff but she is a bit more careful. haha

Because I care

Here is another card I made for camp. The set I used was Flower Fest. 5 of the stamps match punches so I only had to cut out the leaves. Easy Peesy. You know me I love those textures so of course I had to emboss the black. The bow is a faux bow... haha I wrapped the ribbon around the card and then I just tied a knot on a separate piece of ribbon and stuck it on with a glue dot. For those of my fellow stampers who are allergic to ribbon ;)
I will post the other 2 camp cards after Sunday's gathering of stamping goodness.
Enjoy this fabulous weather.
Happy Stamping

Birthday card

This is the card I made for Rebecca's 15th Birthday. You cant tell but the scoops are gradual layered with dimensionals. I think next time I will add texture to the scoops. can you tell I like that set called Swirls and Curls? so cute.

Recommitment to my blog

Hello all.... I have made the decision to move my blog from my wish I could get to it list to my list of things I must do. I will start today by posting 2 cards. One for the upcoming camp and the other is for a very special Birthday. Check back often as I am going to make sure I post lots of inspiration for you. I am inspired by so many of my fellow Stampin Up demonstrators and I will mention your name if your ideas are the ones that draw me in.
Stay tuned.

Stamping Mojo....

This cute card is one that we will be making at stamp camp this next weekend. Inspired by a fellow stamper Mary Brown... it is a cute combination of punches and textures.

This card is for my BFF Gwen. When you care to send the very best... you better stamp it!

Love my punches and embossing folders.. sure adds the pop to the card.
